20 Cyanotypes on Fabriano Artistico and Jansen Paper 250 gr/m2
255,0 x 255,0 cm / 41,5 x 59,0 cm (each)
''The Cut'', constitutes of 20 cyanotypes with a size of 42x60cm each and a total size of 255x255cm. All images of ''The Cut'' have been made without the use of a photographic camera. The cyanotype process is one of first photographic techniques ever used and creates as a final result a monochrom blue/white image. ''The Cut'' represents the same act in repetition. The act of slitting the surface of a paper. However, ''The Cut'' is not just a representation of an event. It is the event, the object and the subject itself. It's the representation of what's missing, the rupture, the lost continuity. Beside that, the cut becomes the border between the slitted surface and the negative space created behind. A border between what once was and the forthcoming. This negative form/space constitutes the subject of the image and appears over and over again, same but different in order to become accessible, tangible and be comprehended.
